This blog post is meant to be the cliff notes, the little sampling, for all my TLDR (too long didn't read) girlies, here are the BASICS I would tell a friend who is going to Fringe, for more information, please visit the https://rochesterfringe.com website.

First, what IS fringe fest?
Literally anything and everything, it's the corner stone of weird, fun, thought provoking, silly, wild, and everything between. In 2025 there are over 600 performances across 30+ venues between September 9 - 20. It is one of the largest festivals in Rochester.
While there are many paid performances, there are also a ton of FREE performances and things to do. You can easily filter through shows on their website based on date (let's say you only have one free night to visit, you can search by that!) by genre, location, only free performances, age appropriateness for kids, making it super easy to attend one, if not many of the 600+ performances!
If you want tickets, do not wait until the last second... there are a few things (ahem SILENT DISCO) that sells out almost every night and they do it multiple nights! Silent Disco, Shotspeare, Cirque Du Fringe, Drag Me to Fringe were some of my favorite performances/activities last year!
Okay but where am I supposed to park??
Street parking (if you can find it) is free after 6:00 PM and many of the shows are in the evening! There are multiple parking garages nearby, pending on where the show is, I like to park at the "East End Garage" on Scio Street or "Midtown Parking Garage" under Parcel 5 pending on where the shows are that you are going to see!
