HIIIIII!
I'm the Hope in "ROCthecitywithHope".
I love all things that make Rochester, "Rochester" in the best cliche ways possible. From owning numerous Kodak cameras, claiming the garbage plate as my favorite meal, there's a lilac scented candle in my bathroom right now, and countless pieces of Rochester art around my home.
I live in an unofficial retirement community, tucked away in the woods, 10 minutes from the city of Rochester.
If you know anything about the enneagram, I'm a 7. As soon as I discovered it, I made everyone in my family take the assessment so I could learn more about them!

Most of my days start tip toeing trying to sneak to my kitchen to make some coffee (which always includes a packet of hot chocolate and is drank hot no matter what time of year it is) before my 100lb German Shepherd "Duke" (also known as "Dukeford") wakes up and is ready to be entertained.
He usually understands social cues and stays quiet during calls but his ears that are larger than satellites may appear during our virtual meetings!
When he's feeling attention deprived, he has been known to send emails on my behalf, telling me it is time to take a break.
This is me and my mom, she is my #1 fan and low key she probably has liked and shared your ad before you've even accepted the collab request on Instagram.
She actually was the one who came up with the name and concept of "ROCthecitywithHope" which came after I finished interning with Visit Rochester, helping visitors decide things to do while on vacation in Rochester.

I'm a published author who wrote a book on (you guessed it) Rochester! This features my favorite places around the Greater Rochester Area specifically to take pictures. This has been one of the most common dm's I've received, whether looking for senior pictures, engagement, family, you name it!
So, I compiled an entire book for your coffee table to help you discover new places around Rochester to love.
In addition to published author, the list of previous roles doesn't get any less random. I had top-secret security clearance as a tour guide for the treasury, I was a wedding dj, radio on-air personality, and caught the higher education bug for a few years.
When I'm not working, I volunteer on the Antoinette Brown Blackwell Society Board, helping to award scholarships to Henrietta students, chair the Visit Rochester Professional Development Committee Exchange, and am the secretary for my Home Owner's Association for my unoffical retirement community. You can also find me volunteering as an emcee for non-profit organizations.
If you’re new here, welcome. I believe Rochester is worth rooting for and that every city needs a hype girl. Glad you found yours.
