Rainy Day Activities around Rochester New York

Now I firmly believe there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing (except for thunder, lightning, hail, and maybe tornados...)

But I know I am in the minority when it comes to this sometimes! And this summer has been so rainy lately that we need more indoor activities than usual! Here are some ways I like to spend a rainy day around Rochester.

Kodak Visitor's Center

Located inside the lobby of the Kodak Center on West Ridge Road, the Kodak Visitor's Center is a FREE museum dedicated to the company's history. There you'll see George Eastman's Hollywood Star, and learn about all the other products that Kodak invented! They are open Monday - Friday from 9 - 5. While their hours are a little hard to manage, I think it is a great stop for everyone who lives in the area to visit.

Strasenburgh Planetarium

Located next to the Rochester Museum & Science Center, the Strasenburgh Planetarium reminds me a lot of going to the movies. Just because you've been to the movie theater, doesn't mean you've seen every show! They always have new shows going on for people of all ages. Some of them are even music based and not necessarily all "sciencey".

Lamberton Conservatory

Located inside Highland Park is the Lamberton Conservatory. One of the most hidden gems in Rochester, in my opinion! For under $5, you can take a mini tropical vacation and visit the Lamberton Conservatory. The conservatory is open seven days a week from 10 - 4 (except for Thanksgiving & Christmas).

iSmash Rochester

Get your rage out about the crappy weather at iSmash in Henrietta! You'll be provided items to *destroy* and your weapon of choice (I personally loved the sledgehammer). If you're not feeling smashing things, you can also throw axes and check out their splatter paint room.

Now, there are definitely MORE places to check out than just these 4. But, here are 4 to get you started. If you're looking for more content on Rochester, make sure to check out my free guides and social media channels!
