Places to Cool Off Around Rochester

Looking to beat the heat this summer? Here are a few summer activities to cool off and chill out.

Cryotherapy:

"The use of extreme cold to freeze and remove abnormal tissue", while many people use it as a supplement to their weightless, you are literally stepping into a frozen chamber. It has a lot of benefits, including: muscle recovery, headache and migraine symptoms, boosted mood & mental clarity, arthritis pain & joint discomfort, improved sleep, increased energy, helps with chronic pain conditions and burns 200-500 calories a session to name a few things!

A couple of businesses in Rochester currently offer cryotherapy. Of the businesses on this list, I have only been to driphouse but it is also offered at Restore Hyper Welless and Polar Opposites Integrative Therapy.

As someone who is chronically cold, I have not reached a point to where I have tried cryotherapy yet but it is on my list of things to try! I am much more of a lizard this time of year, soaking up as much sun as I can!

Cold Plunge:

It feels like a craze that has taken over the internet, cold plunging! It's when you soak in extremely cold water. It's supposed to help with pain, inflammation, and release endorphins. Lumos Sauna is known for combining cold plunging with their sauna! Lumos also has been hosting community plunges so you don't have to plunge alone. I've only been to Limos but there are a few other businesses that offer cold plunge, AMOR SANAS and The Wellness Lab.

We are so fortunate to be surrounded by bodies of water and many local state parks also have public swimming areas and pools but sometimes, it's nice to be inside beating the heat!

I personally do not have kids so I am always wary to promote things I am not familiar with but if you are new to the area or are visiting there are tons of splash parks throughout the area and I am sure there is one close to you! Here is another local blogger who has a complete list of Splash Pads in Rochester.
